MetaTrader charts are created using the bid price.
- Closing of buy orders are triggered by the bid price so you will see the chart line hitting the Stop Loss.
- Closing of sell orders are triggered by the ask price, which is not visible by default. That’s why stop losses of sell orders may occur on prices not seen on the chart.
The Ask Line can be enabled by right-clicking on the chart and opening Properties.

Leverage selection upon creation of a MetaTrader account is only applicable to Forex and Metals (Max 1:500). The rest of the market has fixed leverage as follows:Indices: 1:200Energies: 1:100Stocks: 1:20Cryptos: 1:100
Leverage is being able to control a larger portion of the market with a smaller sized investment. The leverage selected when opening an account is dependent on the amount of risk the Trader wishes to partake in.We would suggest that you check the best option for you with your source of mentorship if you have one or conduct an internet search to understand the concept fully. Depending on the pair or instrument that you plan to trade, different leverage options might apply. For a full list of leverages that we offer, please click here.
